FantasyLand

I lived a life of luxury, I lived high in my head
Nobody told me what to do, I never made my bed FantasyLand
I never thought that I'd be inconvenienced
I never knew that I was out of touch

But now I see some things, now I see the strings
Now I see that this is just a dream
FantasyLand A land that's soft and clean
No one there is mean a land of good machines
FantasyLand

Everybody's heads are buried Everybody's heads; buried
It wasn't hard to make believe it wasn't hard to sleep
Nobody told me how to dress, no one got too deep
I never thought that I'd be short of comfort
I never thought there'd be no need to sing

Make Believe

Making up a world that I can see but you can't see
Making up a place where I can be what I can be
Making up a face that I can wear when I am there
Making up a world where I can see what I can see

Well I know its only make believe
But it's really all I've got
I know its only make believe
So make believe that you love me
Make believe everything's all right
Make believe that you love me
Say you love me

Looking at a world where I can find some peace of mind
Making up a place where I can be what I can be
Making up a room where I can stare into the air
Making up a world where I can see what I can see
I know its only make believe

The Beast Unwinds

Everybody loses when you can't make up your mind
Make it up Even if you only make it up
Sliding towards the answer, it begins to so incline
It's just the undertow just the undertow ...

Call me up, call me down to the meeting place
Half way down the interstate
It's not a verb, it's not a noun it's just the undertow
When the Beast unwinds
When he stretches and he sneezes and he smiles
When the Beast . unwinds

Spinning down the double helix reaching out is just a reflex
There's nothing to hold on to
Sailing scared against the backlash and undertow
Against the undertow ...
Hollow mountains falling down
Rotten thunderbirds, throw their weight around
It's not a verb, it's not a noun it's just the undertow

When the Beast unwinds
When he stretches and he sneezes and he smiles
Then the beast unwinds
Then he flexes and he preaches and he frowns
Then the Beast . unwinds

I and I

I and I we got a thing going on
We got a love that's true we got a love that's strong
Yeah and everybody knows ...

I and I we got a thing going on
We got a love that's fierce we got a love that's strong
As pure as the water, turned into wine
Like a lamb to the slaughter,
I believe ... I believe ...

I and I we got a thing going on
We got a love that's pure we got a love that's strong
Anytime, every time I see you I,

I'm just gathering light, wrap it all around me
Yes and everybody knows
I've got nothing better to do try to be as happy as you
I've got nothing better to do try to be as funky as you

Forever

If I don't get digital soon, synthesize or compromise my point of view
They could send me to the moon for noncompliance
Maybe make me eat some science .

If I don't start moving too fast
Dinosaurs like me might crawl into the past
'Cause nothing's going to last forever
No nothing lasts forever it's just too strong
I can't stand up to forever

Forever, it's just too long no and nothing lasts forever
In this world of fragile ego where the truth makes no one glad
We can fool ourselves together we can fool ourselves real bad

So please don't make me, please don't make me
Please don't make me join your club
Please fake me, please don't shake me
'Cause my forever's almost up

15 Minutes

The light bulb up above my head it finally engaged
Now I can see your glass is halfway empty
How could I miss that loser tattoo stamped upon your arm?
I guess I had my blinders on, that should have been a fire alarm
Now I can see your lies, see right through you alibis
Now my groove is back in whack
My duck has found his quack, I finally had a smart attack
Your 15 minutes is over
Your credit card has just expired, your limousine has blown a tire

Your 15 minutes is over, over and out, over and out.
That shallow little gene pool that you used to call your own
It beckons and it calls you by your name
The little hand is ticking and the big one will not stop
Every second off the clock reminds me that your time is up
Now I can see your lies, see right through your alibis
Grab your toothbrush, pack your crap
I'll take a little walk; you'd best be gone when I get back
Your 15 minutes is over
Your credit card has just expired; your limousine has blown a tire
Your 15 minutes is over
Over and out there in the night you'll

find, a place to call your own
Down there by the tracks you'll find your gravy train is gone
I wake up in the morning and my head it doesn't hurt
There's not a week of dishes in the sink
The footprints on your ceiling and the rug burns they are gone
It's quiet and that idiotic TV isn't on
Your 15 minutes is over
Your tax return is overdue; your little song is out of tune
Your 15 minutes is over, over and out yeah, yeah

Spirit Moves

When the Spirit moves, into your heart, don't turn away
Don't ever doubt that power
You've been granted a gift you'll never repay .
And when the world outside, fails to reveal kindness or joy
Crawl to your feet, draw on that Power

There will come a day our spirits' will meet
When the Spirit moves, abandon your pride, cast off your fears
Throw down your chains, open your mind
Spirit will set you free

Oh, I've been lifted; I've been raised to my feet
I can finally see, the road to be free, it's right in front of me
Where the final hour comes to an end, no one can see
Draw on that power, somewhere inside
Spirit will set you free

When the Spirit moves, don't be afraid, don't be afraid
Throw down your chains, open your mind, Spirit will set you free

Too many Wounds

I can close my eyes, but I can't stop these dreams
I cover up my ears, but I still hear the screams, crying out, crying out .
I can feel the heat, but tears won't stop these flames
Cries of disbelief, bodies burning down, to the earth, to the earth

Too many wounds, there's too many wounds to heal
Too many wounds, too many wounds to heal

We have died, we have killed and we've burned
Step aside, while famine takes his turn
No recourse, no remorse
Oh God what did we do? Oh God what did you do?
Oh God what did we do?

Water of Life

Fools look for meaning in the sky
Mother seeks the truth in a tiny baby's eye
Young man fights the world, he battles through his pain
Old man does not hide from the rain

We are one in this water of life
One drop seeking to unite
Ah we try, yes we try
We are one in this water of life

Try, try, try we can only try our best
Try, try, try we can only do our best
Man marks the passage of time
His little invention, counting down our lives
Cool flows the water; wash away these tears, wash away these years

Better Than That

You got to do better than that
You got to raise the bar a bit you got to show me more than this
You got to do better than that
You got to show me something real you got to tighten up the deal
You got to do better

You better smarten up or dumb me down, numb me out or change the sound
Show some evolution
You've got to speed it up or slow it down to push my buttons
If you want to start a revolution

'Cause you're a bad, bad actor, a nuclear reactor. Heading for a meltdown

And when the radiation starts to spread, I don't want to be around
I don't want to be around no more.
You got to do better than that
You got to lose the attitude, need to lighten up the mood

You got to do better than that
You got to tighten up the deal, re-invent the wheel, you got to do better
You got to tighten or batten down, tie those loose ends to the ground

If you want a real intrusion
You got to reel it in, hunker down, keep your ear close to the ground
If you want a real solution

Genuine Artificial

I went to California to view the Redwood Zoo
I saw the caged behemoths and I trembled
And the saws outside the gate vibrate up and down the state
They can't wait to sink their teeth into the giant's last refrain
It's the land of the free, unless you're just a tree well that's America
And a Redwood deck's our right for the barbecue tonight
Yeah, that's American; genuine artificial
Down in Mickey's magic realm, there's a silk and plaster elm

With a tree house full of kids that just refuse to grow
Then Tinker belle takes wing and the robot pirates sing
Don't you worry 'bout a thing, just keep my place in line
Well it's real and it's not, like a story without a plot that's America
Like a theme park where the theme's turned bad and kind of mean
That's America; genuine artificial
And anything is game; when there's money to be made

And the current generation is not the one to pay
And the preachers and the patriots and the moneychangers say
As long as there's a profit everything's okay .

It's easy just to bail when the market place is stale
And it's tough to lay down roots when everything's for sale
And it's hard to be alone when you're staring at your clone
And he's talking on the phone to another one of you
There's no one thing to blame when the numbers lose their names
As the forced fun explodes and the party just reloads
Yeah that's American; genuine artificial
It's the land of the free unless it's you or me that's America
Like a theme park where the theme's turned bad and kind of mean
